Most of the people I work with are between 25-35 with no kids so they have a good amount of disposable income. Of our four weeks of vacation, we’re required to take two weeks consecutively.
So this morning, people were talking about how they were planning on using their two weeks of vacation in 2014.
"Oh, I’ve been to Europe two years in a row already."
“I think I’m going to go to the Dominican Republic this year.”
"I might be going to Korea for two weeks."
"I want to try somewhere new with scuba diving!"
And here I am planning on using a week in Texas and a week at my apartment.
Everyday, I am reminded that I am fortunate enough to have been allowed a chance to feel life. Here is a short list of things I am thankful for:
- Having a loving family and faithful friends; without them, I would be nothing
- An apartment with my best buds in a great city filled with bright lights
- Spotify Premium
- A steady paying job and an internship at the very center of the Chicago tech startup scene
- Happy Hours
- Amazon Prime
